DISA shuffles net-centric staff

The Defense Information Systems Agency has named an interim program manager and a technical adviser for its Net-Centric Enterprise Services initiative.

Alfred Schenck, deputy NCES program manager, is now acting program manager. It's a temporary assignment until DISA names a permanent replacement.

The job became vacant when DISA reassigned the former NCES program manager, Betsy Appleby, to its Strategic Planning and Information Directorate. A DISA spokeswoman said the move will help DISA because Appleby apply her technical knowledge and experience to "better incorporating the net-centric vision into the agency's strategic planning process."

Meanwhile, Henry M. Beebe, DISA's systems engineering transformation executive, is taking over as technical adviser for NCES.
Lt. Gen. Harry D. Raduege Jr., DISA director and commander of Joint Task Force-Global Network Operations, said Beebe's assignment "is a major step in the continuing evolution of the NCES program's management team and reflects the importance with which DISA views the program. His experience and technical expertise will assist DISA in ensuring NCES meets the Defense Department's expectations."

Beebe formerly worked as vice president for professional services at AT&T Government Solutions of Vienna, Va.

Both Beebe and Schenck will report to Debra Filippi, NCES program director.
