Croom nominated for DISA directorship

President Bush has named Maj. Gen. Charles Croom Jr. to head the Defense Information Systems Agency, an Air Force spokeswoman confirmed today. He would succeed Air Force Lt. Gen. Harry Raduege, who is scheduled to retire Sept. 1.

Since August 2002 Croom has served as director of command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance infostructure and deputy chief of staff for warfighting integration at Air Force headquarters. He previously served as vice director for C4 on the Joint Staff, and as director of C3 for the European Command.

Raduege became DISA director in June 2002. Since June 2004 he also has served as commander, Joint Task Force Global Network Operations, and as deputy commander for global network operations and defense at U.S. Strategic Command Joint Forces Headquarters Information Operations in Arlington, Va.
