The General Services Administration earlier this month released requests for proposals for Networx, its 10-year, $20 billion telecommunications program.
The agency plans to award two contracts to multiple companies. One, Universal, covers a broad range of voice and data services that will be available at all government locations in the United States.
The second contract, Enterprise, covers a mix of specialized IP and wireless services available in specific geographical areas.
Proposals for Universal are due Aug. 3, and proposals for Enterprise are due Aug. 5.
Networx replaces FTS 2001, GSA's current long-distance telecom contract that expires next year.
