Berkson to be DOD's new director for program analysis and evaluation

The Defense Department has named Bradley M. Berkson as its new director for program analysis and evaluation.

In his new role, Berkson will advise the secretary on alternative weapon systems and force structures, the development and evaluation of program alternatives, and the cost effectiveness of Defense systems.

Berkson, who also serves as acting deputy undersecretary of Defense for logistics and materiel readiness, replaces Ken Krieg, who was recently sworn in as the undersecretary of Defense for acquisition, technology and logistics.

Berkson is the former president of NEW Customer Service Companies Inc., and founder and former CEO of IP-Mill Inc. In January 2003, Berkson joined the Office of the Secretary of Defense as director of studies and analysis for the senior executive council.

Berkson holds a bachelor's degree in engineering from the University of Tulsa and a master of business administration from Harvard University.
