Special Ops Command taps media advisers

The U.S. Special Operations Command has selected a trio of companies to compete for task orders under a five-year, $100 million contract to devise media campaigns for foreign audiences.
SYColeman Corp., Lincoln Group and Science Applications International Corp. will develop and disseminate print articles, radio broadcasts, TV programs, Internet sites and novelty items to boost the image of the U.S. and its military abroad. The companies also will perform media analysis for the Joint Psychological Operations Support and other agencies.
The work will be performed both inside and outside the continental United States, and the task orders may be issued from June 7, 2005, to June 6, 2010.Roseanne Gerin is a staff writer for
