En Route Automation Modernization Program'An FAA program that will replace software and hardware in the main computers at 20 en route air traffic control centers which provide separation, routing and advisory information. ERAM's flight data processing capabilities will enable flexible routing around congestion and weather. It will improve surveillance by increasing the number and types of surveillance sources, such as radars. ERAM will provide safety alerts to prevent aircraft collisions and congestion. Lockheed Martin Corp. is the contractor.

Advanced Technologies and oceanic Procedures Program'This FAA program aims to replace aging oceanic air traffic control equipment with a single integrated digital system, which would improve on the paper flight progress strips and manual processes used in the past. ATOP incorporates satellite, electronic and radar data to automatically update aircraft locations for oceanic air traffic controllers. Lockheed Martin is the contractor.

COMPASS Program'The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration on June 14 issued a solicitation for systems-integration technical support for its multiyear COMPASS business transformation and IT modernization program. The COMPASS program would comprehensively overhaul the way FMCSA collects, organizes and transmits safety information. The program will also fully integrate the agency's IT with its business processes and practices. The solicitation elicits innovative IT solutions and best practice systems integration technical support services from industry. The Interior Department's GovWorks issued the solicitation on DOT's behalf, which calls for proposals for a five-year performance period.
