Navy awards maintenance system deal to Multimax-led joint venture

The Navy has awarded a $36 million contract to a joint venture between Multimax Inc. and Array Information Technology Inc. to provide software development and support for the Facilities and Equipment Maintenance System, Multimax announced today.

Under the contract, Multimax of Largo, Md., will lead a team that will provide development, implementation, maintenance, training, configuration management and help-desk services to support the Navy Systems Support Group's program management responsibility for the Facilities and Equipment Maintenance System throughout the Defense Department.

Navy shipyards, Air Force logistics centers, Army depots, Navy aviation depots and the Army Corps of Engineers use the system to manage facilities and industrial equipment operations and maintenance.

To tackle the project, Multimax and Array Information Technology Inc. of Silver Spring, Md., have created a joint venture known as MultimaxArray FEM. The joint venture was organized by Multimax as the mentor and Array as the prot'g' under the Small Business Administration's Mentor-Prot'g' Program.

MultimaxArray FEM's team includes Anteon International Corp. of Fairfax, Va. The work will be performed at Anteon's Solutions Center located in Montgomery, Ala.
