$2b Army IT integration contracts awarded to three firms

The Army has awarded contracts worth more than $2.3 billion to three systems integrator companies to provide omnibus IT services to the Army and other federal agencies.

NCI Information Systems Inc., Signal Solutions Inc. and STG Inc. won the Total Engineering and Integration Services II (TEIS 2) contract, a five-year deal that consolidates several IT services contracts.

The value of NCI's contract is $780 million, Signal Solutions' award is worth $776 million and STG's award is worth $772 million. The contract's ceiling value for each vendor is about $800 million.

TEIS 2 succeeds the original Total Engineering and Integration Services contract awarded in March 2000. That five-year deal was awarded to Signal Corp. and OAO Corp. for a combined value of $545 million. Its services included information systems engineering and integration, operations and maintenance, IT support and program management.

The TEIS II work will be performed at Fort Huachuca, Ariz., the National Capital Region and at Army Information Systems Engineering Command customer sites worldwide.

NCI Information Systems of Reston, Va. provides IT services and solutions to federal agencies through its NCI Information Services Inc. subsidiary.

Signal Solutions of Fairfax, Va., is a subsidiary of General Dynamics Corp., which offers IT, engineering and management products and services to the government and commercial sectors.

STG of Reston performs IT and records management services for federal, commercial and international clients.
