HUD awards $25 million housing contact center

The Housing and Urban Development Department awarded Electronic Consulting Services Inc. of Fairfax, Va., a $25 million contract to operate and manage the Federal Housing Administration's Office of Single Family Client Management Center.

ECS and its subcontractor, Aspen Systems Corp. of Rockville, Md., will begin operation of the contact center Feb. 1, the companies said yesterday in a joint release. They will be providing consistent, uniform methods for answering inquiries about FHA programs and processes, collecting appropriate data, and monitoring the quality of service.

The contact center handles more than 1 million contacts annually from real-estate professionals, financial service providers and the public. The contract, which was awarded Sept. 30, has a duration of up to four years.
