SBA unveils Web site for woman-owned businesses

The Small Business Administration has launched a new Web portal the agency says will provide women entrepreneurs comprehensive business information and assistance.

SBA hopes the My Biz for Women site, made publicly available Jan. 25, will be a one-stop shop for women business owners who need information from the government.

The portal contains information about starting and growing a small business, gaining access to capital and contracting opportunities, as well as links to other government agencies and SBA resource partners that provide business counseling.

'Woman-owned small businesses in the United States are rapidly growing'they are starting businesses at twice the rate of all businesses,' said SBA administrator Hector Barreto. 'The introduction of My Biz for Women is critically important to help new women entrepreneurs start and grow businesses in this country.'
