Fla. city taps Intergraph for public safety needs

Intergraph Corp. won a contract from the city of Plantation, Fla., to deploy an integrated public safety system supporting police, fire and emergency medical services personnel.

Under the contract, Intergraph of Huntsville, Ala., will implement a multi-agency incident and response system that addresses records management, mobile computing and computer-aided dispatch. The contract is valued at $1.9 million.

The new public safety system will provide personnel with interactive, intelligent maps to improve response time to incidents. In addition, the system will furnish more than 200 police officers with instant records access and mobile computing capabilities.

Plantation, which has a population of about 85,000, is in Broward County.
