Motorola Inc. of Schaumburg, Ill., has introduced Multi-Net Mobility, which is designed to provide mobile virtual private networking security across wireless networks.
According to the company, it works over a variety of public or private networks, but clearly it's meant to enhance Motorola's own Motomesh technology, which is multiradio wireless platform.
The software supports Quality of Service, session persistence, roaming, intelligent routing and end-to-end encryption.
According to company officials, when wireless networks are unavailable, Multi-Net Mobility can keep an application 'on hold' until the next network is located. The session is then automatically resumed.
