HPC storage virtualization

Crosswalk Inc. of Westminster, Colo., has released the iGRid 5100, a gateway that can be used between servers and storage arrays to pool storage as a single entity. Each node can manage about 200 terabytes of data.

This release manages Fibre Channel-based units, although it communicates with the servers via Ethernet, said Jack McDonnell, CEO and founder of the company.
