Tech brief | Elemental leaps through hoops

Elemental Security Inc. of San Mateo, Calif., last month said its Elemental Security Platform 2.0 had been certified by the Center for Internet Security for the IBM AIX and Sun Solaris 10 platforms. ESP has also been certified for Windows, HP-UX and Red Hat Linux.

The CIS Benchmark is a set of standards drawn from best practices published by the SANS Institute, National Security Agency, National Institute of Standards and Technology and Defense Information Systems Agency, among others. ESP is a security policy system that handles policy management, host configuration, inventory/discovery and role-based access control.
