Treasury picks Convera for search

The Treasury Department will use RetrievalWare, a search product from Convera, to expand its ability to search documents across Treasury's information and document management portal.

Treasury will integrate RetrievalWare's search capabilities with the Microsoft SharePoint portal, allowing officials to search hundreds of millions of documents. The combined products will also feature automated categorization, dynamic and the ability to profile and share information in real time based on the document content.

The integration with SharePoint is an important element of Convera's strategy to expand enterprise search capabilities, said Kurt Gastrock, Convera's chief operating officer. As the number of organizations using SharePoint grows, the ability to search the data stored there becomes correspondingly important, he said.
