Alternative Technology adds Fortinet security systems to GSA Schedule

Alternative Technology, an Englewood, Colo.-based distributor of thin-client/server-based computing, edge infrastructure, and government-approved security solutions, has added Fortinet, a provider of ASIC-accelerated multi-threat security systems, to its GSA Schedule.

As a result, Fortinet's FortiGate systems will be available to authorized value-added resellers (VARS) for sales to federal, state and local government entities through Alternative Technology's Distribution GSA Schedule.

'Fortinet has a comprehensive security platform that is applicable to a broad range of core and edge applications in traditional and tactical deployments across the federal sector,' John Stubbs, vice president of business development strategies at Alternative Technology, said in a statement.

Fortinet solutions integrate multiple levels of security protection, including firewall, antivirus, intrusion prevention, VPN, spyware prevention and antispam, providing protection from multiple as well as blended threats.

The Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Fortinet offers advanced security functionality that scales from remote office to chassis-based solutions with integrated management and reporting, according to the statement.
