CA (you might still know them as
Computer Associates) of Islandia, N.Y., just launched
eTrust Secure Content Manager r8, a unified security gateway that protects networks against malware via e-mail and Web traffic. It handles viruses, spam, phishing, peer-to-peer file sharing, malicious mobile code and spyware. The product can also monitor outgoing traffic to prevent confidential or sensitive data from leaving your agency. Company officials say eTrust SCM r8 has four new anti-spam engines that utilize DNS blacklists, heuristic filtering, Bayesian analysis, digital signatures and collaborative filtering. It can scan more than 200 file types, including documents up to 2GB. Pricing starts at $50 per node.
