Calif. city taps ACS for IT outsourcing services

The city of Riverside, Calif., has awarded a $5.5 million contract to Affiliated Computer Services Inc. for the continued handling of business process and IT outsourcing services.

Under the one-year contract, the Dallas-based company will deliver IT services to support the city's infrastructure, applications and business objectives.

The new agreement covers migration to Microsoft Exchange, co-management of major city technology initiatives and the services of local Riverside technology vendors.

The contract contains five one-year options that could raise the value to $30 million, if all options are exercised.
