Appraising PDF archives

Apago Inc. of Alpharetta, Ga., has released a free application to validate whether documents are rendered correctly in the PDF/A format, an ISO document archiving standard based on Adobe Portable Document Format. PDF Appraiser can scan a document to ensure it adheres to the standard. It also automatically corrects basic errors and generates reports. The company offers a more in-depth version for $349 and a server version for bulk validations that's priced at $999.
