Calif. county re-ups ACS for IT support

Solano County, Calif., has renewed its contract with Affiliated Computer Services Inc. for continued support of the county's IT infrastructure.

Under the three-year, $15.2 million contract renewal, ACS of Dallas will furnish IT support services to meet the county's needs related to its desktop, applications and help-desk functions.

The contract has two options for two years for continued IT services that could raise the total contract value to $35 million.

The new contract calls for several infrastructure improvement projects, migrating help-desk services to ACS' service center in Portland, Ore., and establishing new IT project management and best-practices initiatives.
