www.netapp.com) has begun selling a new flexible, network storage device for small enterprises. The
StoreVault S500 supports network-attached storage, iSCSI storage area network and Fibre Channel SAN configurations. It can scale to 6TB using standard Serial ATA drives. Officials said the StoreVault comes with data center-scale security features, including RAID-DP to guard against dual-drive failure, predictive failure analysis and NetApp Snapshot, which allows fast recovery by creating up to 250 snapshot images of the data. Pricing starts at $5,000.
