Calif. city re-ups ACS for outsourced IT

The city of Santa Clara, Calif., has awarded a one-year, $4.1 million contract extension to Affiliated Computer Services Inc. of Dallas to continue to manage the city's IT operations and furnish associated services, including data center management, help desk and applications support, and network management and desktop support.

In addition, ACS will provide consulting services to assist the city in efforts to align its IT operations with business objectives. Situated in Silicon Valley, Santa Clara has a population of more than 100,000.
