Lurita Doan, new administrator of the General Services Administration, has been making a lot of pitches lately, usually involving efforts to revive the agency's status as the government's procurement hub. She got to make an easier kind of pitch last month, throwing the ceremonial first ball at a New Orleans Zephyrs' game. Doan, a New Orleans native and Washington Nationals season ticket-holder (the Zephyrs are the Nats' AAA affiliate), was in town speaking to state, local, business and other representatives about disaster recovery issues.
