NSA nod for GD secure terminal

The National Security Agency has granted Type 1 security certification for a software upgrade to the Sect'ra Black Digital Interface Terminal, offered by General Dynamics Corp. of Falls Church, Va., (www.generaldynamics.com).

The terminal, when attached to cellular phones, satellite phones or other devices, encrypts voice and data transmissions. The Type 1 cert clears the way for Top Secret use. The upgrade itself boosts throughput to up to 128Kbs.
