TSC chief Bucella stepping down

Donna Bucella, director of the multiagency Terrorist Screening Center, will be leaving her post for a senior position with Bank of America of Charlotte.

Bucella will begin her new role in mid-October, the company announced.

According to the bank, Bucella will lead all aspects of business continuity, planning coordination and recovery efforts for the bank. She will establish plans, policies, guidelines, and procedures for corporate preparedness and event management.

'Donna brings a unique set of skills to the bank along with a broad background in continuity planning and implementation,' said Doug Smith, corporate information security and business continuity executive.

As the first director of the Terrorist Screening Center, Bucella oversaw a team of interagency employees with access to all of the government's terrorist watch lists. The shop maintained a centralized Terrorist Screening Database and also managed the no-fly list.

The TSC serves as a model of information sharing between agencies, since Bucella herself is considered an employee of the Transportation Security Administration, but in her role as TSC chief, she reports to FBI director Robert Mueller III.
