Scott Hastings, CIO of the Homeland Security Department's U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology program, has announced plans to retire in October or November, according to a program official.
DHS spokeswoman Anna Hinken confirmed reports that Hastings had told U.S. Visit director Robert Mocny of his intention last week.
Hastings is eligible to retire now, according to Hinken. Hastings is expected to move to a less stressful job in private industry, according to an e-mail he released.
