NORAD software to be designed by SYS Technologies

A task order to deliver software engineering services for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, and the Northern Command has been awarded to SYS Technologies.

Under the one-year, $1 million contract, the San Diego Company will design, develop and integrate a Web-based, net-centric information processing and sharing system for enhanced awareness of battlefield situations.

The program addresses NORAD and the Northern Command's requirement to rapidly analyze an incident, assess the situation and carry out an effective response to a threat, attack or natural disaster.

The software suite includes geospatial information system infrastructure that will allow for seamless sharing of tactical, operational and strategic data by and between DOD and non-DOD mission partners on the Norad/Northern Command network.

SYS Technologies, which offers IT connectivity technologies to the public and private sectors, has principal offices in California, Maryland and Virginia.
