Patrick Volkerding has released version 11 of Slackware Linux distribution. Although lacking many of the bells and whistles of more elaborate distributions, such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Slackware has long been viewed by the open-source community as a solid no-frills Linux distribution. Version 11 includes both the 2.4 and 2.6 kernels, the KDE desktop, the SeaMonkey browser, e-mail and messaging suite.
