Texas Medicaid support deal goes to ACS

The state of Texas will continue to receive Medicaid-related support services from Affiliated Computer Services Inc. through a $230 million contract extension.

Under the extension, ACS of Dallas will handle Medicaid claims processing, supply operations support and administer a primary care case management program.

ACS, Accenture Ltd. and MMC Group have formed the Texas Medicaid and Healthcare Partnership responsible for processing claims and providing support for the Texas Medicaid program.

The partnership works on a wide array of matters with more than 45,000 health care providers ranging from claims processing and prior authorization to management of medical conditions and call center support. The partnership, with a workforce of 1,200 employees based in Austin, processes more than 5 million claims and answers from than 300,000 provider and client phone inquiries monthly.
