The Apache Foundation has released version 6 of the Apache Tomcat application server.

New features include support for version 2.1 of the Java Server Pages format, as well as support for version 2.5 of the Java Servlet, the Sun Microsystems Inc. specification for server-side Java-based applets. Other features include a refactored clustering implementation, advanced I/O features and improvements in memory usage.
