Tableau adds to its analytic toolkit

Tableau Software has released a major upgrade to its visual data-analysis program. The program offers tools for pulling selected data from spreadsheets and databases and representing it in a variety of reports. Tableau Version 3.0 offers dynamic dashboards, annotation and labeling tools for marking up reports, and support for on-the-fly data grouping.

The company also added support for IBM DB2, PostgreSQL, Firebird and tab-delimited text files.
