Air Force targets Northrop for plane production

The Air Force has awarded Northrop Grumman Corp. an $11.5 million contract to produce five airplanes with specialized radar and intelligence processors.

The company's Integrated Systems Air Combat Systems division in San Diego will build two planes with enhanced integrated sensor suites, and three more with radar technology, integrated sensor suites and spare parts.

The work will be completed by March 2008, according to the company.
