Intel mobilizes new Centrino

Intel has announced that its latest version of the Centrino Pro processor for laptop PCs will support remote wireless operating-system patching and virus scanning even if the hard drive or operating system is not in operation. The processor will also quarantine infected laptops and use an out-of-band communication channel to deploy remediation software, fix the problem and bring the PC back onto the network.
