Earlier this summer, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee launched a contest challenging Dems nationwide to come up with a bumper sticker slogan that would instill fear into Republicans running for Senate in 2008. The project attracted more than 10,000 entries ' followed by a fervent vote for the most inspiring candidates. The winning entry, however, was the rather lengthy (for a slogan) 'Sorry W/I'm the Decider/Dems in '08.' Three lines? Even Democratic bumper stickers have entitlement issues. Navy directors gone wild: Recently, the Navy had to work hard to suppress a new-media product made by one of its more creative sailors ' a YouTube video shot aboard the Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier. 'Women of CVN76: 'That Don't Impress Me Much' ' was a four-minute clip in which female Navy personnel lip-sync a Shania Twain song. The theme ' quite clever, actually ' was that women can do all the jobs on a Navy ship just as well as men. According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the video was viewed more than 31,000 times before YouTube removed it at the request of the Navy. A Navy spokesperson told the paper that 'the video was a lighthearted and positive depiction of the service of women officers and sailors aboard aircraft carriers and in Navy squadrons,' but it also showed the door to the ship's nuclear power plant, which could have presented security problems.
