Document Detective 3.0

ManTech International has released Document Detective 3.0 Government Edition, a security tool that prevents the disclosure of hidden data in classified documents.

The software identifies and removes more than 100 types of hidden information and metadata, including embedded objects, Object Linking and Embedding files, PDFs, HTML and Extensible Markup Language data, and comments and tracked changes in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word documents.

It also finds and removes object fragments created when an application fails to get rid of information deleted from a document.

The latest version of Document Detective includes an expanded ability to detect obscured text and additional ways to check for hidden data created by the Paste and Paste Special functions in Microsoft Office files.

Document Detective was engineered to process classified documents, and it meets the intent of the government's 100 percent reliable human review criteria. The program is also on the Defense Security Service's list of products approved for trusted downloads.
