Brocade offers new switches

Brocade launched a new family of data center fabric switches and host bus adapters (HBAs) that promise higher performance and simplified management. The new family of 8 gigabit/sec Fibre Channel switches range in capacity from 8 ports to 80.

The switches and HBAs support fabric quality of service, traffic management and other adaptive networking services that can benefit evolving data centers.

In addition to promising to nearly double the performance of previous versions, the company said the new switches increase power efficiency by about 40 percent.
