Fujitsu ships nonstop drives

Fujitsu Computer Products of America is shipping a new series of 2.5-inch hard drives designed for nonstop operation.

The MHZ2-BK 7,200 rpm and MHZ2-BS 5,400 rpm Serial Advanced Technology Attachment series features capacities as high as 250G. The MHZ2-BK 7,200 rpm model is maximized for blade servers, near-line storage devices, telecommunications devices and other data-intensive, business-critical applications that require around-the-clock operation. The MHZ2-BS 5,400 rpm series is designed to support industrial applications with continuous access, including surveillance cameras, industrial PCs, point-of-service systems, automated teller machines and robotics.

The drives also feature rotational vibration compensation technology, which minimizes the adverse effects of vibration to maximize performance of applications under demanding operating conditions.
