MassHousing adds new MapInfo tool

Pitney Bowes MapInfo this week released the Location Intelligence Component for IBM Cognos 8 business intelligence software.

Customers include Massachusetts' Housing Finance Agency (MassHousing), which is using the software to incorporate location analysis into its existing Cognos 8 BI apps to monitor and analyze enterprise data.

The Massachusetts agency works with partners in the housing and financial sectors to provide affordable housing to residents. By integrating the LIC into its existing Cognos dashboard, MassHousing can now present data in a geographic context, company officials said. For example, MassHousing can use the software to discern how many communities are within a 10-minute walk to public transportation.
