Alienware adds graphics buzz to Area-51 notebook

There's no cover-up here: Alienware has announced that it has added the NVIDIA Quadro FX 3600m graphics processing unit to its Area-51 m15x laptop PC. The powerful graphics processor makes it especially suitable for professionals who work with computer-aided design, digital content creation, visualization and scientific applications, Alienware representatives said.

The upgraded laptop delivers support for Open GL 2.1, Shader Model 4.0 and Direct X 10, company officials said. It uses architecture designed to enhance GPU performance through efficient allocation of geometry, shading and pixel processing power.
