SmartDraw 2009 offers 3-D effects, animation, Google maps

SmartDraw yesterday announced the 2009 version of its flagship business graphics software.

New features include network and Web site mapping, three-dimensional presentation effects, Web page capture, PowerPoint animation and integration with Google Maps, the company said.

SmartDraw 2009 is compatible with Microsoft Office, letting users export SmartDraw files to PowerPoint, Word and Excel, SmartDraw officials.

'Business people understand that a picture is worth a thousand words when trying to express key ideas,' said Paul Stannard, SmartDraw.com's chief executive officer. 'Because SmartDraw draws for them, illustrating a process with a flowchart, brainstorming with a mind map, planning a product launch with a project chart or organizing personnel with an org chart become easy ways to convey clear, compelling and often critically important points.'
