Deadline nigh for entering Green500

How energy-efficient is your machine?

Supercomputer teams have until Friday, Nov. 14, to entertheir machines into the running for inclusion into the next
Green500 list of the world's most
energy-efficient supercomputers.

This list will be presented in conjunction with the next
iteration of the twice-annual Top500 list of world's most powerful
computers, to be unveiled this month at the Supercomputing'08 show.

While the Top500 lists computers in order by the number of
floating point operations-per-second (FLOPs) that they can execute,
the Green500 ranks supercomputers by the number of FLOPs executed per watt.

Virginia Tech's Department of Computer Science oversees the
Green500.
