Transition Watch: Cybersecurity challenges loom for Obama

Some tough cybersecurity tasks that the outgoing Bush administration has not or will not complete should be at the top of the Obama administration's IT security agenda, according to Computerworld.

Fixing them will require a shift in focus away from one strictly tied to the post-Sept. 11 war against terrorism and to one more attuned to fostering greater collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as using the government's acquisition muscle to force changes among vendors and service providers.

Progress has been made in certain areas, officials claim, but others say that much more needs to be done, Computerworld reports.
