Appistry expands cloud software

Appistry has introduced new enterprise software that lets organizations more easily manage applications and services in both public and private clouds.

Appistry CloudIQ Platform 4.0, formerly known as Appistry Enterprise Application Fabric, is an extension of that platform expanded to support the management of existing, unmodified applications and infrastructure in cloud computing environments.

Cloud computing is an approach in which dynamically scalable systems and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet. Using CloudIQ Manager, a component of the cloud platform, IT managers can package and deploy existing applications to a cloud environment without modification, Appistry officials said.

CloudIQ Engine, another component of Appistry’s platform, is geared for application developers and architects. CloudIQ is a runtime container for Java, Microsoft .NET and C/C++ code that lets developers reuse code and leverage existing skill sets and tools.

Appistry CloudIQ Platform 4.0 will be available this spring as a software download. In addition, the platform will be available through Appistry’s partners.
