NitroView wins FIPS 140-2 certification

NitroSecurity announced today that its security information and event management (SIEM) product, NitroView, has earned Federal Information Processing Standard 140-2 Level 2 validation from the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

The NIST standard ensures that security devices are capable of protecting sensitive information through physical and digital safeguards. NitroView is the first SIEM product to achieve FIPS 140-2 Level 2 validation, according to the company.

NitroView can analyze, correlate, and report on billions of security events, network flows and logs per minute, company officials said. Organizations can mitigate risks by responding to security threats in minutes instead of the hours that other SIEM products typically require, they added.

“The lack of a FIPS 140-2-validated SIEM solution was a significant gap in the NIST-approved product list, leaving federal information systems without the true defense-in-depth strategy that is required with today’s threats,” said Ken Levine, NitroSecurity’s chief executive officer.
