Software AG adds new BPM features to WebMethods

Company serves up new SOA, business process capabilities with flagship BPM suite

Software AG has announced WebMethods 8, the latest release of the company’s flagship business process management software.

WebMethods 8 integrates with IDS Scheer’s ARIS BPM tools. (Software AG is in the process of acquiring IDS Scheer.) The release adds new capabilities throughout the WebMethods suite, which includes Enterprise Integration, B2B, Business Process Management and SOA Governance.

The new release adds a feature named CentraSite ActiveSOA, an integrated business service repository, the company said. It aligns BPM and service-oriented architecture with a single system of record for assets. WebMethods 8 also offers enhanced business intelligence to deliver process analytics, enabling users to compare performance against historical trends, Software AG representatives said. Other new features include service virtualization and policy enforcement, which let users make infrastructure changes without disrupting processes.
