2010 GCN Awards Organization: Coast Guard.

Project: Alert and Warning System 2.0.

Objective: To provide rapid and accurate bidirectional information between the Coast Guard and its external partners by using multiple communications channels.

Solution: AtHoc's IWSAlerts Web-based alerting system.

Effect: Security, maritime safety and natural disaster information is being provided in minutes to Coast Guard personnel, other government agencies and maritime partners through multiple channels.

Duration: Two months to initial employment in December 2009. Additional features are being added.
