Fighting terrorism with technology

Four products on top of the fusion center shopping list

Fusion centers are charged with preventing terrorism attacks without impeding anyone’s civil rights. It’s a specialized task that requires a specialized IT solution. Fortunately, there are several solutions to choose from.
  • Memex, an intelligence management platform and system recently acquired by SAS, is being used or is in the process of being installed at 15 fusion centers, including the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Fusion Center, Nebraska Information Analysis Center, Northeast Ohio Fusion Center and Kansas City Early Terrorism Warning Group.
  • The Fusion Core Solution, a system from Microsoft that combines ESRI ArcGIS Server Advanced Enterprise software with Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, is being used by the Utah Statewide Information and Analysis Center.
  • The i2 Fusion Center solution has been chosen by a number of fusion centers, including, more recently, the Austin Regional Intelligence Center.
  • IxReveal’s uReveal Enterprise solution is in place at the Northeast Florida Fusion Center and Central Florida Intelligence Exchange.
