Smart-phone app for vets with PTSD hits 5,000 downloads

A new smart-phone app designed to offer support to veterans and service members suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder has hit 5,000 downloads, FedScoop reports.

The app was developed for the Veterans Affairs and Defense Departments. It can be used on iPhone, iPad and iTouch devices to provide a self-assessment for PTSD, support and treatment options, and tools for managing stress from the condition, GCN reported when the app was introduced in April.

FedScoop reports that 96 percent of downloads have come from users in the United States. VA and DOD have announced that people in 25 other countries have downloaded it as well.
