Brocade unveils on-demand data center strategy

Brocade this week announced an “On-Demand Data Center” strategy that combines physical and virtual networking feature to simplify and scale network resources. By uniting separate aspects of virtual and physical networking across a cloud framework, the data center delivers simplicity, scalability, and resource usage, the company announced in a release.
To support this strategy, and its commitment to open source projects, the company is delivering new hardware and software, including:
Virtual networking solutions: Brocade's Vyatta vRouter, designed to build sophisticated multi-tier networks that can be deployed, configured or changed on demand, as well as Brocade's Virtual ADX Application Delivery Switch, which provides a virtual application delivery platform that increases the speed of application deployment and services for dynamic cloud environments.
Physical networking solutions: A four-port 40 Gigabit Ethernet Brocade MLXe module for mission-critical and data-intensive services required in data center and enterprise core networks. For smaller data centers that are integrated into Carrier Ethernet networks, Brocade offers new versions of the compact Brocade NetIron CER routers, featuring up to four ports of 10 Gigabit Ethernet.
Orchestration and management solutions: Available for the Brocade VDX switch family, the Brocade plugin for OpenStack lets customers build scale-out data center infrastructures based on industry-leading VCS Fabric technology.
