Cybersecurity partnership adds muscle to analytics toolset

Cybersecurity software provider Centripetal Networks said it will enhance its RuleGate attack visualization and analytics product line through a recent OEM partnership the company announced with ThreatTrack Security.

Under the deal, ThreatTrack’s threat intelligence solution ThreatIQ would be incorporated into RuleGate, providing significantly more real-time data to agencies about malicious activity building on their networks.

“The addition of ThreatIQ into RuleGate significantly expands the wealth of security data we can provide our customers to protect them from threats as they emerge,” said Centripetal CEO Steven Rogers.

The appliance helps analysts visualize emerging threats to their networks, including break-in and data theft attempts as well as malware, spam, phishing and scanning, according to the company. It also offers cyber analysts real-time visibility into which hosts are communicating from inside the network to specific hosts outside the network, Centripetal said.

The original equipment manufacturer deal with ThreatTrack will provide more muscle to those features, the partners said.

ThreatTrack's ThreatIQ is a cloud-based service that delivers a continuous stream of data on malicious URLs, IP addresses, suspected malicious files, phishing links and other security intelligence processed by the ThreatTrack Security Labs.

The company says its global threat analysis infrastructure processes as many as 1 million potential threats daily.
